Project 1: Analytique

“Analytique” is an elevation drawing of a building façade, incorporating details such as sections and plans that are creatively arranged and composed as an integral part of the drawing.

Aim: learn how to effectively illustrate communicative graphics through a method of composing architectural drawings,

Task:

Conduct a case study of sustainable architecture based on a selected building that was built predominantly using natural materials such as bamboo, timber, masonry etc and/or recycled building materials. As an outcome of your case study, you will prepare an “Analytique” on one A2‐sized drawing which is rendered using pencils and/or charcoal to illustrate the important architectural features or details of the building. The drawing shall be creatively composed and rendered in a professional manner. The drawing shall be affixed to a black foam‐core board or equivalent with a 20 mm black margin all round.
