Project 1.1: Two-Dimensional Shape and Patterns
Architectural design is a creative endeavor. However, the architects’ creative imagination of shapes and forms is usually integrated with certain principles of order. This project will explore seven common ordering principles using two dimensional shapes and patterns.

Task
Use white model boards to create a two-dimensional artwork with a black mounting board as the base. The artwork shall have the thickness of a single piece of model board. It can be in any shape and pattern and it shall demonstrate one or more of the following principles of order: Axis, symmetry, hierarchy, datum, rhythm, repetition and transformation. The artwork must be within the confines of a square measuring 250 mm by 250 mm, and it shall be firmly affixed to the black mounting board base of size 300 mm by 300 mm.
